Dalian University Scholarship Details:

The Dalian University Scholarship helps graduate students. The duration of the scholarship is three years for master’s programmes and four years for doctoral programmes.

The majority of DUT’s programmes are taught in Chinese, but some are also taught in English. In general, the scholarship duration specified in the Admission Notice for major study cannot be extended. Students may not, in general, apply to change their specialties, institutions, or duration of study as specified in the Admission Notice.

Eligibility Requirements for 2024 Dalian University Scholarship

To be considered for the Dalian University Scholarship, please complete the following form:

  • Non-Chinese citizens in good health must apply.
  • Education and age requirements: Applicants for master’s degree programmes must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
  • Applicants for doctoral programmes must have a master’s degree and be under 40 years old.
  • Language requirement: For Ph.D. and Master’s applicants, the final tutor and department may assess your language level based on an interview or a written test.

For the Chinese-taught programme, an HSK certificate (within the last two years) is required:

  • Submit a TOEFL or IELTS transcript; in general, the TOEFL score must be 80 or higher, and the IELTS score must be 5.5 or higher; Applicants who used English as the language of instruction in their previous education should submit the language certificate issued by their previous education institutions instead.
  • Applicants from countries where English is the official language are not required to provide proof of English proficiency.

Required Documents

Candidates must be prepared to submit the following documents in order to apply for the Dalian University Scholarship.

  • Applicants for Chinese Government Scholarships should fill out the online application and then print and sign the application form after submitting it online.
  • Applicants who are currently in China must submit a scan of a photocopy of their visa.
  • Academic transcripts (beginning with the undergraduate programme).
  • A proposal for a study plan in Chinese or English (no fewer than 1000 words).
  • Two letters of recommendation, one in Chinese and one in English, from professors or associate professors at the university from which the applicants graduated. These letters must describe the applicant’s learning objectives in China, comprehensive abilities, and assessment of future growth. Please see the attachments.
  • Photocopy of completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Blood Test Report in English (applicants should keep the original).
  • Copy of passport photo page and one blank visa page (normal passport expires in September 2024).
  • Certificates of Language Proficiency. Refer to the qualification’s language requirement.
  • No-Criminal-Conviction Certificate. Highest diploma notarized (notarized photocopy).
  • 1 photograph (3cm x 4cm)
